Yield

The yield is the ratio of good parts to bad parts. The proportion of bad parts, on the other hand, is referred to as scrap. For economically successful production, this value should be >90%. Particularly in the case of expensive assemblies, a low yield can cause significant economic damage.

If, for example, products worth 1000 euros are produced in a 1s cycle, a yield of 90% means a reject rate of 10%. With 24/7 production, this means that parts worth 8.6 million euros are rejected every day.
