Temperature cycling test (TCT)

Describe a temperature cycling load on electronic components due to environmental influences. Temperature cycling tests are carried out with two-chamber climate chambers. These consist of a preheated and a cooled chamber. A kind of elevator moves the samples back and forth between the two chambers.

Typical dwell times per chamber are 10 to 30 minutes and a frequently used temperature range is -55…+125°C.

The test is standardized according to AQG324 and DIN EN 60068. There are also corresponding military standards from the USA, such as MIL STD 750.
