Hard soldering

Refers to all soldering processes that take place at >450°C or solder alloys with a melting point higher than 450°C. A typical application is the joining of pipes for gas or water lines for which a brazing alloy like Ag 156 is used. It consists of 56% silver, 22% copper, 17% zinc and 5% tin. This brazing alloy has a melting range of 620 – 655°C.
